Dani Cortes

My name is Dani Cortés, and based in Valencia, my work merges the power of blackwork with organic delicacy. I specialize in illustrations ranging from botany to insects and animals, which I like to translate onto the skin using a high-contrast technique, playing with solid blacks and negative space. From time to time, I also enjoy creating variations outside my usual style.

My artistic approach stems from the traditional and the handcrafted: I use solid lines, negative drawing, and a clean execution inspired by scientific botanical illustration, etching, and ornamental Japanese aesthetics.

I deeply value the artisanal aspect of my craft. I study every design so that its shapes and directions flow organically with the body, ensuring the tattoo isn’t just an image, but a solid piece that respects and enhances the anatomy.
